Find the WEP Key on a Network

A WEP key is a type of password used to encrypt the connection of a wireless network on your computer. If you enter the WEP key into your computer once, it will be stored in your wireless profile so that you don't have to enter it again. If you need to find the key to give to someone else so that the individual can connect to the network, you can use the Network and Sharing Center.

Instructions

Click on the listing for the network for which you need to find the WEP key. Click the "Adapter Properties" toolbar button. In the "Properties" window, select the "Security" tab. The WEP key for the network is displayed on screen.
