Instructions

    • 1

Look for the movie of your choice on a media website like Amazon, Blockbuster or iTunes.

    • 2

Purchase the movie and download it in a format that is compatible with both your computer and your portable movie player. If you are unsure which file types are compatible, read the directions that came with your portable device. In general, you should be safe purchasing movies that are compatible with Apple products from iTunes and Windows products from Amazon.

    • 3

Save the movie file in a place that is easy to find.

    • 4

Plug your portable device into your computer using the USB cable. After eight or nine seconds your computer should recognize the device and open it with a default media player like Windows Media Player, Quicktime or iTunes. If your computer does not recognize the portable device within 20 seconds, look for it in your C: folder (if you are using a PC) or your Finder (if you are using a Mac.)

Click on your new movie file and drag it into the portable device queue. The portable device queue will show up as a playlist on your media player. Click on the Copy to Device or Sync button to begin downloading the movie to your portable movie player.

Safely disconnect your portable device upon completion of the download.

Tips & Warnings

  • Not all movie files are compatible with all types of portable electronic devices. Additionally, some websites will not download certain file types to certain computers. For example, Mac users cannot presently download movies to their computers and play them offline. Mac users can still purchase and view Amazon movies, they just have to be connected to their Amazon accounts to watch them.

  • Illegally downloading and sharing protected files is punishable by law. Illegal files may also contain harmful malware that could damage your computer and your portable device player.
