Upgraded versions of Windows Vista may cause errors in Outlook 2007.

A nonessential component of Microsoft Outlook, the "Fax Extension" add-in works with the computer's fax server. This add-in often causes error messages within Outlook on computers running upgraded versions of either Windows Vista or Microsoft Office 2007. The errors typically occur when sending or replying to emails. Unfortunately, the "Fax Extension" add-in cannot be uninstalled, but a few mouse clicks can disable the add-in and resolve the problem.

Instructions

      Open Outlook and click the "Tools" menu.

      Click "Trust Center."

      Click "Add-Ins."

      Select "Exchange Client Extensions" from the drop-down menu located at the bottom of the page, and then click "Go."

      Click to remove the check beside the "Fax Extension" option.

      Click "OK," and then restart Outlook.
