The H20 makes navigation a little bit easier.

The Lowrance iFinder H20 is a GPS navigator. Using satellite signals, GPS receivers calculate their position, and can be used to find your way around the world. You can use the H20 if you're traveling on foot or by car. It features "Point Of Interest" information, which are preset locations that enable you to search for common locations without trawling the map manually. You can also use this to find a local restaurant or place to stay when you're in unfamiliar territory.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the power button. This is located in the bottom left hand corner of the H20, and is set slightly into the body of the unit, to prevent accidental presses while navigating. The opening screen will show you America from 4,000 miles away.

    • 2

Press the "Pages" key to bring up the "Satellite Status Page." The "Pages" key is located to the top left of the four-way "Arrow Key." This button cycles through the H20's three main pages, the "Map Page," "Navigation Page" and the "Satellite Status Page." You'll recognize the "Satellite Status Page" by the circular display in the top left hand corner or the display screen. There should be some grayed-out numbers displayed inside the circle. This shows that the H20 is trying to lock on to the satellites. You'll also notice some vertical bars underneath the circle; these will display the signal strength for the various satellites when they've been located.

    • 3

Wait for a minute for the H20 to lock onto the satellites. This shouldn't take more than a minute, unless you're obstructed by large buildings, mountains, or things of that nature. Eventually, you'll hear a beep and see a message confirming that the GPS has locked on.

    • 4

Press "Pages" twice to return to the "Map Page." This will display your current location on the map. Assuming you're starting this journey from home, press the "Ent" key twice to set this as your "Home" location. The "Ent" button is located in the bottom right hand corner of the H20, directly underneath the "Exit" key.

    • 5

Press "Zout" or "Zin" to zoom out or zoom in. Zoom in to your desired level, and then use the direction buttons on the "Arrow Key" to look around the map. Scroll to the location you wish to travel to and center the cursor on it.

    • 6

Press "Menu" to bring up the H20's menu, and then press "Ent." The "Menu" key is located above the "Pwr" key. Finally press "Exit," which is above "Ent." The "Map Page" will be displayed again. Follow the onscreen steering instructions to find your way to your location. Alternatively, you can use the "Navigation Page" to follow a more compass-like display.

    • 7

Press "Exit" to switch the "Arrival Alarm" off when you reach your destination. Press "Menu" and scroll down to "Cancel Navigation" and press "Ent." Highlight "Yes" and press "Ent" again.

    • 8

Press the "Find" key, followed by "Ent" when you want to return home. The "Find" key is located directly above the "Exit" key. Follow the instructions in the same way as before to be directed home.
