How to Prep the Gevalia Pod Brewer
The Gevalia pod brewer brews a single cup of coffee at a time with coffee pods. Coffee pods are premeasured plastic cups of coffee grounds with foil lids. They come in dozens of coffee flavors from dark roast to French vanilla. You can also purchase Tazo chai tea flavors ranging from very spicy to mild and sweet. These coffee makers are convenient for solo coffee drinkers, college dorms and those evening coffee cravings no one else shares with you. Using the Gevalia pod brewer for the first time may seem intimidating, but it's simple. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place your Gevalia pod brewer on a hard, flat surface and plug it in. Grip the water reservoir on the back of the brewer with one hand and lift to remove it from the machine. Open the lid and fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water.
-
2
Slip the hole in the top of the reservoir over the plastic hook in the back of your machine. Lower the weight of the reservoir down onto the hook and press the bottom of the reservoir against the machine until you hear a click. This means the reservoir is securely in place and ready for use.

3
Lift the handle on your brewer's lid to a 90-degree angle so the handle points toward the ceiling. Open the brewer. Inside you'll see a round brewing chamber with plastic sides and a wire mesh bottom. This is where your coffee will brew.
-
4
Choose a pod holder. Your Gevalia brewer should come with three: a coffee pod holder, a tea pod holder and a double coffee pod holder. They should be labeled. Place the pod or pods of your choice in the appropriate holder. Place the holder over the brewing chamber inside your machine. The handle of the pod holder and the foil on the pod should both be facing up.
-
5
Snap the lid on your brewer closed. Place the drip tray into place just below the drip spout. Slide a coffee mug into place below the drip spout as well. Choose the appropriate setting from the menu of buttons on the base of your brewer: six ounces, eight ounces or 12 ounces. Press the button and brew.
