How to Remove Super Glue From Counter Tops
Super Glue is a wonder of modern technology. Utilizing the moisture present within two objects, the sticky adhesive applies a nearly permanent bond in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, Super Glue is not very viscous, which leads to occasional dripping on an unwanted surface, like a counter top. Despite the bonding agent's powerful reputation, you can remove Super Glue from your counter tops with the correct solvent and a bit of patience. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Acetone nail polish remover
- Cotton swabs
- Old toothbrush
- Razor blade
- Cold water
- Washcloth

Dampen a cotton swab with acetone nail polish remover.

Dab the cotton swab atop the Super Glue to moisten the surface. Allow the acetone three or four minutes to dissolve the glue.

Hold a razor blade at a 60-degree angle to the counter top and gently pry away the Super Glue. Do not press too hard, as this may result in gouging your counter top.

Scrub the dissolved Super Glue away with an old toothbrush.

Apply more acetone with another cotton swab every few minutes. Continue prying and scrubbing away the Super Glue with the razor and toothbrush until you've removed all traces.

Dampen a washcloth with water after you've completely removed the glue and wipe the counter thoroughly. Doing so will remove any excess acetone or dissolved adhesive.

Tips & Warnings
Use a hard-bristled toothbrush for the best results. Avoid using a wire brush or steel-wool pad, as these abrasive tools can easily mar your counter tops.
Applying too much acetone to your counter tops for prolonged periods will discolor the surface.
