An omelette pan helps you make omelettes that look like they came from a restaurant.

An omelette is created by scrambling eggs and mixing other food in with the eggs or placing the food in the center of the folded omelette. Making a folded omelette filled with other foods can be difficult because the egg base often falls apart when you try to turn or fold it. Using a split omelette pan can remedy this problem and yield a more appealing presentation. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Spray the inside of your split omelette pan with baking spray. Having a nonstick surface is very important to putting the omelette together without problems.

    • 2

Heat the split omelette pan. Some omelette pans are plugged in, some cook over the stove top and others can be used in the microwave.

    • 3

Pour half of your egg mixture in one half of the split omelette pan and the other half of the egg mixture into the other side of the pan. Make sure both sides are evenly filled. Cook the omelette mixture until it's set along the sides.

Gently lift the egg as it cooks so uncooked egg drains toward the side to cook.

Use a spatula to lift the edge of the omelette and allow the runny egg to drain under it. This allows the entire egg to cook evenly without having to be flipped. Continue to lift the edge of the egg so uncooked egg can be drained toward the side, lifting the edge of the omelette maker gently to tilt.

Place your omelette filling on top of one of the split omelette pan egg halves. Close the omelette pan so the two halves are brought together. The top portion of egg will fall out of the top part of the pan, forming the top of the omelette.

Lift the omelette out of the omelette pan with your spatula. Allow the pan to cool before washing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Place three eggs and 1/8 cup milk in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. The air introduced into the eggs during the blending process makes the eggs extra fluffy for the omelette.

  • Practice makes perfect. When using a new appliance, such as a split omelette maker, it can take a few tries before you become adept.
