How to Remove a Hubcap on an Airstream Trailer thumbnail
A screwdriver helps in removing hubcaps.

Airstream trailers last a long time and many vintage Airstreams are still in use. Locating authentic Airstream hubcaps is more complicated than merely visiting an automotive parts store, but removing Airstream hubcaps is easy. The manufacturer provides a specialized tool for hubcap removal, but a screwdriver--or sometimes two--can do the job just as well.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the tip of the screwdriver or removal tool along the edge of the hubcap.

    • 2

      Pry off the hubcap.

    • 3

Move the screwdriver or removal tool to another point along the edge of the hubcap. Try another prying point, if the hubcap did not come off the first time.

    • 4

If it still won't budge, insert a second screwdriver along the edge of the hubcap.

    • 5

      Pry off using both screwdrivers.
