How to Restore the Admin Account in Windows XP

How to Restore the Admin Account in Windows XP thumbnail
Add the Windows administrator account to the log on screen.

When you install Windows XP the first time, it requires you to set up at least one user name to log into the computer. When you do this, the administrator account disappears. You can restore the administrator account by adding a value to enable it in the Windows Registry. Once you do this, you will have the option of logging onto the administrator account on the log on screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Start" and "Run." Type "regedit" in the Open box and press "Enter."
