How to Create Your Own Invitation Programs
Guests planning to attend an event appreciate receiving invitation programs. Invitation programs help events run smoothly by maintaining a timeline. They also allow guests to determine the sorts of activities they will have the opportunity to join. Anyone planning an event can create invitation programs by using their computer's design software.
Instructions

1
Purchase card stock paper at a local stationery shop or an online stationery site.
-
2
Open the design software on your computer. Examples of design software are Printing Press Platinum, The Complete Social Publisher, and Microsoft Publisher.
-
-
3
Choose a publication type. Usually located at the top portion of the screen, there is an option to choose various publications labeled "Publication Types" or "Design Templates." Select this option, scroll through the various publication types, and select a program template. Choose a blank template if you want to design your program on a blank page.
-
4
Add color to your invitation program. To change the background colors of the program, select the icon for your desired block of color, and then the paint bucket icon. Both icons are located on the design toolbar. Right-click on the background area of the program and the background color will change.
-
5
Add a design to your invitation program. To draw a design on the program, select the icon for your desired block of color, and the paint brush icon. Both icons are located on the design toolbar. Right-click on the desired area of the program, and begin dragging the paintbrush in the same manner as if you were drawing the image with a pencil.
-
6
Add text to your invitation program. If you are using a pre-designed template, select the text box within the template and begin entering text. If you are creating a program from a blank template, click on the text box icon located on the design toolbar. A text box will appear. Select and drag the text box to a desired location on the program.
-
7
Add images to your invitation program. Select "Picture" and insert a picture from your computer. You may also select "Clip Art" and choose a pre-existing clip from the design software. Both pictures and clip art can be dragged to the desired location on the program.
-
8
Click on the page setup option located at the top of the screen. Enter the measurements of your card stock paper, or choose one of the preset size options.
-
9
