How to Check the Yahoo DSL Speed
You may want to check the speed of your Yahoo DSL connection. If you download and upload pictures, movies, videos or documents, you may want to know how much time it takes to complete a task. The test is also useful to see if you are getting the download and upload speeds promised by Yahoo DSL.

1
Use the website Speed Test (see Resources) to check the upload and download speeds of Yahoo DSL.
-
2
Click on a server close to your area. There is a turning yellow star for the area where you should start looking. For instance, if you live in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, a yellow star appears near smaller blue stars. Find a blue star in that area close to you. A box opens, listing the closest cities. Choose the one closest to you by clicking on the city in the box.

3
Allow the test to run. After the test is complete, a display in the middle of the page tells you the download speed and upload speed. It tells you the ISP that was checked, which is SBC Internet Service (AT&T Internet Service) for Yahoo DSL. It tells you the nearest server its distance from you.
-
4
Read the box on the left side of the screen. The box tells you the download speed of a 5MB MP3 file, 35MB video clip and an 800MB movie. At the bottom of the box, it tells you if the ISP is poor, average or excellent.
-
5
Save the speed test results by clicking "Your Results" from the top of the page on the right side. On the next page, you will see the result. Click "Download in CSV Format" at the bottom of the test results box to download the test results.
