Internet Explorer (IE) offers a number of different keyboard shortcuts that allow you to navigate the Internet with ease. Most of the keyboard shortcuts are consistent throughout each version of Internet Explorer; many shortcuts that work in IE8 will work in earlier versions of IE and vice versa. To browse through websites in your recent history, for example, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to go "Back" and "Forward."

      Launch Internet Explorer from the Quick Launch toolbar or Start menu.

      Hold down "Alt" and press the left arrow key to go to the previous page.

      Hold down "Alt" and press the right arrow key to go forward to the next page.
