How to Mount a LCD TV Outside
You might want to mount your LCD television outside for a special occasion such as a soccer match or to watch a film with a large group. Mounting an LCD screen indoors is easier because you do not have weather restrictions and standard fixtures for walls are designed for interiors. However it is possible to put a screen outside. Measure your LCD TV. You need to know its width, height and thickness. Also note its make and model, too.

Buy an outdoor enclosure to protect your TV. Make sure it's a suitable size for your screen. The enclosure should protect your TV from sun damage, rain and strong winds.

Choose a wall for mounting your TV. Consider factors such as the direction of sunlight, shadows or seating to maximize your viewing pleasure. The TV must be close to a power source.

Attach the enclosure to the wall. Follow the manufacturer's instructions --- each unit varies on how it attaches to the wall. If you attach it to a wooden or plasterboard wall, you will need to drill and screw the unit into a pillar for strength. On a brick or concrete wall, you will need to use an anchor to support the weight of the TV and enclosure.

Ask an assistant for help to lift the TV into the enclosure. Close the front panel tightly. Make sure that you have securely fastened all the fittings. You do not want your TV to fall in a strong wind or get wet in rain.

Tips & Warnings
Do not attempt to install the mount and TV alone. Make use of your assistant to avoid injury to yourself or the TV.
Commercial TVs are designed for use indoors. Avoid damage by making sure you take your TV in during the rain and to avoid theft.
Make sure that the enclosure is securely attached to the wall before putting the TV inside.
