Attachments Will Not Open in Outlook 2007

Follow these steps to open your attachments.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 is used for sending and receiving emails. The program is popular with business professionals who make use of its address book features to keep track of customers, as well as secretaries and assistants who make use of its calendar features to set up appointments. One benefit of Outlook is the ability to receive and open email attachments with ease. However, sometimes your attachments will not open; instead, you may receive an error. This problem can occur when the temp folder Outlook uses to save copies of your open attachments has become full. Cleaning out the folder usually solves the problem.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and "Run." Type "REGEDIT.EXE" and click "OK." This will open the Registry Editor window.

2. Go to "Edit" on the toolbar and click "Find."

3. Type "OutlookSecureTempFolder" in the "Find What" box.

4. Click the "Find Next" button. You should find a folder location similar to C:\Users\rac\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\CU8KPJWH\.

5. Copy the location of that folder.

6. Click "Start," "Run" and paste the folder location in the "Open" box.

7. Click "OK." The Windows Explorer window will open.

8. Delete all the temporary Internet files from this folder. When you're finished, close the folder.
