How to Install Msvcr71.dll

A number of error messages might display on your computer if the msvcr71.dll file is not properly installed, ranging from "Msvcr71.dll Not Found" to "The file msvcr71.dll is found missing." Luckily, you can install this file using a few short steps. The file controls functions such as drop-down menus, mouse events and scroll bars. Once you install and register the msvcr71.dll file, the aforementioned functions should return to normal.

Instructions

1. Download and save the msvcr71.dll file to the System32 folder (see Resources). Navigate the following folder path to locate the System32 folder:

   C:/Windows/System32

2. Click "Yes" or "Confirm" if the prompt asks if you are sure you want to replace or reinstall the msvcr71.dll file.

3. Press "R + Windows key."

4. Type "regsvr32 msvcr71.dll" in the dialog box and press Enter. This registers and updates the file.
