Bluetooth connections are wireless.

Acer laptop and desktop computers often feature Bluetooth wireless connections. This convenient technology is very easy to master, even for the least tech-savvy people. With a few clicks of your mouse, you can connect your Acer laptop to any Bluetooth device and never have to worry about tangled wires again.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the laptop and the Bluetooth device.

    • 2

Activate the discovery function of the Bluetooth device. The exact method varies a great deal between devices.

    • 3

Click on the "Start" button on the Windows home screen. Click on "Control Panel" in the menu that pops up. Select the "Bluetooth Settings" icon, and then click "Add."

    • 4

Select "My device is set up and ready to be found" and then click "Next." The laptop will search the room for Bluetooth devices and make a list of them.

    • 5

Select the device you wish to connect to the computer from the list that pops up. Click "Next."

    • 6

Enter the numerical passkey for the Bluetooth device if you are prompted to. Some devices don't require a passkey; for those that do, you can find the code number in the owner's manual.

    • 7

Click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Check the window that pops up for a "Bluetooth Device" icon. If you see one, the device has been successfully connected.
