Instructions

    • 1

Wash horns with mild detergent and warm water. Use an old soft-bristle toothbrush to remove dirt from crevices. Pay special attention to the area where the horn attaches to the skull.

    • 2

Place the horns in the sun and allow the horns to dry completely before continuing.

    • 3

Feel the horn for rough spots and use fine-grit sandpaper to produce a smooth finish. The coarseness of the sandpaper will be labeled on the package.

    • 4

After sanding, smooth the finish with #0000 fine steel wool.

    • 5

Apply floor wax using a soft, lint-free cloth. Buff the horn until the finish is smooth and glossy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Placing the skull and horns into boiling water will loosen the horns. Horns are cleaned and polished and then reattached to the skull to be mounted on the wall.
