The Quicken program is a popular application built by Intuit that allows computer users to electronically store and organize their financial data. Although Quicken is available for both PC and Mac systems, the two operating systems use different types of Quicken files that are not compatible. You must first export the file in a format that can be read by Quicken for Mac to move PC Quicken data to a Mac.

      Launch Quicken on your PC computer, go to the "File" menu and select the "Export" option.

      Select "QIF File" as the format you want to use for the export operation.

      Use the "QIF File To Export To" section to specify where you want to save the exported file. If you are moving the data over to your Mac using an external hard drive or flash drive, you should connect the device and save the QIF file onto it.

      Choose which Quicken accounts and transactions you want to include in the exported file and hit "OK" when you are done.

      Move the QIF file you just created to your Mac computer using the external hard drive or flash drive.
