How to Adjust Whirlpool Oven Temperature
Whirlpool's roots go back to "motor-driven wringer washers" and a merger in 1929 between the Upton Machine Company and the Nineteen Hundred Washer Company of New York. Since then, Whirlpool's product offering has grown to include the manufacture of home appliances, such as ovens. Whirlpool ovens use technology to provide convenient home cooking and baking. They allow for changes between Fahrenheit and Celsius settings. You can also make temperature adjustments that include changing the calibration of your oven. Does this Spark an idea?

Press and hold "Broil" on the oven control for 5 seconds to change between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Ovens are preset to Fahrenheit, but some Whirlpool models will allow you to change to a Celsius temperature setting. You will hear a sound or see "C" on the control display. The "C" will appear for 3 seconds. When cooking in Fahrenheit, an "F" follows the oven temperature.

Press the "Upper Oven" or "Lower Oven" button on the control panel, depending on which you are cooking in.

Press "Bake."

Enter the desired temperature by pressing the number pads. The bake range can be set between 170 degrees Fahrenheit (77 degrees Celsius) and 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius).

Press "Start."
Calibrating the Oven

Press and hold "Bake" until the oven display shows the current calibration. Calibrating the oven is useful if it cooks slower or faster than your previous one.

Select which oven you want to calibrate by pressing "Upper Oven" or "Lower Oven."

Press "Bake" to increase the oven's temperature calibration and "Broil" to decrease it. The calibration is adjusted in 5-degree Fahrenheit or 3-degree Celsius intervals. You can change the calibration by a total of 35 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 degrees Celsius.

Tips & Warnings
When calibrating your oven, Whirlpool recommends the following guide. A 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit calibration (3 to 6 degrees Celsius) causes the oven to cook a little more; 15 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (9 to 12 degrees Celsius) calibration causes the oven to cook moderately more; 25 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit (15 to 21 degrees Celsius) causes the oven to cook much more. Decreasing the calibration with have the same effects, except in the opposite direction.
