Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the electrical power to the fuse circuit servicing your range outlet or to the entire kitchen if you are at all unsure which circuit serves which outlets.

    • 2

Move the range to just in front of or adjacent to the location where it will be housed permanently.

    • 3

Strip away all of the shipping and packing materials around and inside the range. Remove the interior oven racks, loose burner grills, storage drawer, literature stuck to or in the oven, parts envelope or bag, any tape or plastic film stuck to the range and the cardboard packing feet or base.

    • 4

Adjust the four leveling legs to bring the top cooking surface of the range level with the surrounding countertops. Tilt the range onto its back feet to adjust the front legs and onto its front legs to adjust the back legs. Use a wrench or pliers to raise or lower the leg height as needed. Lay a level across the top of the range first side to side and then back to front to ensure the range unit sits perfectly level on the floor.

    • 5

Install the single anti-slip bracket that came with the range to the floor or wall immediately behind either the right or left rear leg. Drill pilot holes with your 1/8-inch drill bit into the floor or wall using the bracket holes as a guide. Screw the bracket down tightly with the screws provided and your Phillips head screwdriver or drill bit.

    • 6

Slide the range three-quarters of the way back into position against the wall. Insert the racks back into the oven or ovens and slide the lower storage drawer back in, if applicable.

    • 7

Check the range for level once more by positioning the level across the top even rack, again in both directions. If you need to adjust the leveling legs, raise or lower one or more legs to bring the range perfectly level.

    • 8

Slide the range fully back into position, hooking the right or left rear leg into the anti-tip bracket, as you do. Keep the power cord held up and free so it does not get crushed under the range as you move it.

    • 9

Plug the three prong-power cord attached to the range into a grounded 40- to 50-amp outlet. Restore power to the circuit and test the range top as well as the oven for smooth trouble-free operation.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be certain to follow all local and state building and electrical codes when installing your KitchenAid range. When in doubt of these requirements or should you need to arrange updated electrical wiring, direct wiring or make a natural gas connection for the range, contact a licensed electrician or plumber to assist you in the installation.
