Instructions

    • 1

Wet a dish rag and wipe up any spills in the refrigerator or freezer section. The odor from spills can seep into the area of the icemaker, leaving a taste in the ice.

    • 2

Remove old and stale ice cubes from the icemaker and allow new ice to run through the system. Ice stored for long periods in the icemaker can develop an unappetizing taste.

    • 3

Cover foods tightly or store in sealed containers when placing foods for storage in the freezer or refrigerator. Foods not properly sealed release smells that settle into the icemaker.

    • 4

Replace water filters every six months or as often as suggested by the manufacturer. The filtering process breaks down in old water filters, allowing minerals to enter the water and give off a bad taste.

    • 5

Clean the icemaker tub. Remove the tub and clean in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry before placing back into the freezer. If you cannot remove the tub, empty it of ice cubes and wipe it with a soapy dish rag. Rinse with a wet dish rag and dry with a dish towel.
