Go to the main panel of your security system. There may be multiple panels throughout the building, depending on the specific system and the size of the space. Ensure the system is armed and active, which the panel should confirm for you.

Watch the panel, and you will see it respond when a door or window is opened or if a fire is detected. Any system activity will be shown on the panel as it happens.

Log in to your security system's website if your system has online compatibility. Enter your username and password, and you will then be able to monitor your system's activity online as well as arm and disarm the system remotely.
