How to Make Gummi Worm Dirt Cups
A delightfully gross dessert children are sure to love is the Gummi worm dirt cup. Gummi worms are a rubbery sweet candy made to resemble worms and come in bright colors. The finished dessert looks like a cup of dirt, with colorful worms sticking up out of the sweet soil. Small disposable paper drink cups make suitable containers for the dessert. - 2 cups milk
- 1 package (4 serving size) instant chocolate pudding
- Whisk
- Bowl
- 16 oz. chocolate sandwich cookies
- Plastic food storage bag
- 3 1/2 cups whipped topping
- Rubber scraper
- Spoon
- Gummi worms
- 8-oz. cups, 8

Combine cold milk and instant pudding in a bowl and mix well, for about two minutes. Let pudding stand for five minutes.

Place the cookies in a plastic food storage bag. Remove the air from the bag and seal.

Roll a rolling pin over the bag to smash the cookies, making crumbs.

Fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding with ½ of the cookie crumbs, and blend (gently) using the rubber scraper.

Add 1 tbsp. of cookie crumbs to the bottom of each cup.

Fill each cup about ¾ full with the pudding mixture.

Sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs on the top of each cup.

Garnish each cup with gummi worms, sticking some of the worms partially into the pudding soil. Refrigerate to firm up.

Dirt was what John requested for his 25th birthday supper dessert. He remembered eating it as a kid when a friend of ours brought it over on earth day. This just reminded me that all the things from our past can produce happy memories that we want to recreate. For those of you who still have small children or grandchildren you have unlimited opportunities to be a part of very special memories. All the effort and creativity and love we put into raising our kids is not going unnoticed by them. It is the simple things that really matter. So I am going to make some dirt (with gummy worms) for my 25 year old son.
