Nero Won't Recognize Burner

Nero is one of the most commonly used programs for burning DVDs and CDs on computers. When trying to burn a disc, you may encounter some problems. In some cases, Nero will not recognize your burner. Here are some things you can try that might solve this problem.

  Try uninstalling Nero and then re-installing. Run Nero cleaner before re-installing; this can be found on Nero's website. Go to Support, and go to Tools & Utilities, then click the General Nero Clean tool tab.

  Check if Nero is updated to the latest version. If not, try updating the software.

  Run a virus scan on your computer. It is possible that your computer is infected with something that has prevented Nero from seeing your burner.

  Go to the Nero website and make sure that your burner is supported. There is a possibility that it is incompatible.
