How to Add an iPhone to a Family Account

Add your new iPhone to your AT&T family plan.

Most cell phones and smartphones are available with family plans, which allow family members to combine their phones on one account with shared minutes to save money. Apple's iPhone, which is currently only eligible for an AT&T family plans, allows parents and children to stay in touch with calls, SMS text and e-mails while on the go. If you already have a family account with AT&T and wish to add a new iPhone number, you can do it through your online AT&T account.

Instructions

1. Log in to your wireless account at ATT.com. (See Resources.)

2. Click "Account Overview," then select "Account Profile."

3. Scroll down, and select the option to add a user to your account. Enter your new iPhone phone number and the last four digits of your (or the account owner's) Social Security number. If you set up your account with a PIN, you may need to enter that as well. Click "Save."
