How to Stop Autostart in Skype
When you install Skype, you are asked if you want Skype to automatically run when you start up your computer. You may have selected "Yes" at the time, but have now changed your mind. If this is the case, it's not necessary to uninstall then re-install Skype. You can simply open the opens menu and change your selection. This will disable Skype when Windows starts up.

Open Skype and sign in using your user name and password. When the interface loads, click on "Tools" on the top bar.

Click on "Options" to open the Skype options menu.

Click on "General Settings." Look for "Start Skype When I Start Windows."

Click on the box next to "Start Skype When I Start Windows." This will remove the check from the box, which disables the option. Click on "Save." Skype will no longer autostart when you turn on your computer.

In Windows 7 if you R/Click skype icon and quit skype, the box opens for your password, before entering, untick the "Start Skype with windows"option.
