When you first activate your Verizon BlackBerry, you need your phone's ESN number. The ESN number, or electronic serial number, is a string of letters and numbers used to identify your BlackBerry. The ESN number is unique for each phone and is also important for the Verizon BlackBerry because it is used to setup the email. There are three ways that you can locate the ESN number on a Verizon BlackBerry.

Instructions

  1. Help Menu

      Press and hold down the "Alt" key while typing the letters "E A C E."

      Scroll down to the "ESN Number" on the "Help Me!" screen.

      Write down the ESN number and store it in a safe location.

    Label

      Turn the BlackBerry on its back.

    • 5

      Remove the battery cover and the battery.

    • 6

      Locate the ESN number on the label affixed to the phone under the battery.

    Status

      Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen, then highlight "Options."

    • 8

      Click the trackball to open the "Options" folder.

    • 9

      Scroll down to "Status" and click the trackball. The ESN number for the BlackBerry is listed under the "ESN" field.
