How to Change a Gmail Account Password

The account password for your Gmail account is the same password that is used for your regular Google account. That is to say, the same password is tied to all of the various features of that particular service. If you want to change your Gmail password, you will need to log into your main Google account and change the master password that controls all of the features of the service, including Gmail, Google Reader, Google Talk and more.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your web browser and go to Google.com. If you have not already done so, click "Sign In" and log into your Google account using your email address and password.

    • 2

Click "Settings" and then "Google Account Settings."

    • 3

      Click the "Change Password" link.

    • 4

Type your current password into the top box. Type the new password you want to use for Gmail and all of your other Google services into the next two boxes. Click "Save" to confirm the change of your Google account password.
