Instructions

1. Open your web browser. Go to http://www.avast.com. Click the "Products" tab on the homepage.

2. Scroll down to where it says "avast! Free Antivirus" and click "Download." You will be taken to another page that compares the free version with more expensive models.

3. Look for the column labeled "Free Antivirus." Click "Download." A box will pop up asking if you would like 50 percent off the Internet Security version of the Avast software. Click "No thanks, I want free protection." You will be taken to one last page before the download.

4. Click "Download Now." The download will start. Run the setup file upon completion of the download. The software will install within a few minutes. Simply follow the on-screen prompts. Restart the computer at the end of the installation. Avast Antivirus will be fully functional when Windows starts up.
