How to Get an Electronic Air Ticket

Electronic tickets are accepted by many commercial airlines.

Thanks to modern technology, people can receive their tickets or boarding passes through the website of the airline they are flying with and print out their electronic ticket at home. The printed boarding pass is then taken to the departing gate and is scanned by a airline attendant. This cuts time wasted waiting in long lines at the check-in counter to receive your boarding pass at the airport.

Instructions

1. Visit the website of the airline you are flying.

2. Use an online booking site to purchase an airline ticket to your desired destination. There will be an icon labeled "Book flight". Click on the icon to start booking your flight. Choose a date, time and available seat from the flight options. Click on the icon labeled "Purchase" to finalize payment.

3. Return to the airline website from where you purchased your tickets 24 hours before your flight departs. Electronic tickets are only available to print 24 hours prior to the flight.

4. Select the "Check-In" icon located on the home page of the airline website to enter your flight information.

5. Enter your name and flight number into the specified boxes and hit the "Continue" button.

6. Select the icon labeled " Check-In" to reserve and confirm your seat(s).

7. Print your electronic ticket boarding passes from your computer. Select the "Print Boarding Pass" button to print out your electronic tickets.

• Review any flight or airport requirements before you reach the security gate to ensure there are no delays getting to your flight.
