How to Remove the Google Search Bar in Firefox

The Google search bar is installed by default in the Firefox browser. Configured for ease of use, the search bar also allows you to add additional search engines, such as Yahoo. If you want to remove the toolbar and add it back on later if desired.

      Open the Firefox browser.

      Right-click on the Firefox browser toolbar (the blue bar) and click "Customize." The Customize Toolbar window appears.

      Click the Google search box.

      Click and drag the actual search box from the browser toolbar into the "Customize Toolbar" window. To later add the toolbar back, reverse this last step.

      If you want to remove the Google search engine from the toolbar, click the left side of the search box (where the down arrow is) and select "Manage Search Engines." Select Google and click the "Remove" button. You can also add more search engines here.
