How to Reboot a Toshiba Satellite A75-S209 Without a CD
Many of Toshiba's laptops and computers feature a built in recovery partition. A recovery partition is a space on the hard drive reserved for restoring a system to factory settings. This can be a useful tool when troubleshooting your product. The recovery partition can be accessed during the start up process.

Insert the USB stick into a free USB port on your laptop.

Click "Start", open "Computer", and double click the drive allocated to your USB stick to open a folder displaying it's contents. This will be located underneath the "Devices With Removable Storage" header.

Click and drag your personal files and folders into the USB stick folder. Once you have finished, remove the USB stick and place it somewhere safe.

Click start and select "Shut Down".

Press and hold the 0 key and switch on your computer. This will prompt the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen to appear.

Press 1 to restore factory settings. A confirmation screen will now appear informing you of the after effects of the process. Click "Yes" to begin the process. Once the process is finished, a notification will appear. Press any key to restart your system.

Insert the USB stick into a free USB port and restore the backed up files to your hard drive.
