How to Set a Dehumidifier
Humidity is a common problem in basements of homes. Since they are underground, moisture is readily absorbed into the air through the exterior walls. If humidity levels are left unchecked, mold and mildew may become rampant. To prevent these issues, a dehumidifier is usually placed in the basement. Many of these units are portable and plug directly into a wall outlet. They allow you to set the level of humidity that you want them to turn on at, and will cycle on and off to main that level. Locate your dehumidifier near an outlet in an area that is not prone to standing water.

Plug your dehumidifier into the wall outlet. Make sure the cord is pushed all the way in.

Turn the knob to the right until the unit turns on. As you turn the knob clockwise, more drying will occur in the room. Counterclockwise will leave you with less drying.

Set the fan speed to either high or low. High speed will remove more moisture out of the air but will result in louder sound. Low speed will provide quieter operation but it will take longer to remove all the moisture out of the air.

Tips & Warnings
When the red indicator light comes on, it means the bucket is full of water and needs to be emptied. Turn the control knob all the way off before removing the bucket.
