How to Check for AppleCare

AppleCare is the warranty that is included with all new Apple computers. AppleCare includes 90 days of free telephone customer support and a one-year warranty on all hardware. You may also purchase an extension to this warranty period called the AppleCare Protection Plan. If you are unsure whether your Apple computer is still under warranty, check the status online at the Apple Warranty Service website.

      Click the "Apple" menu and select "About This Mac." Choose "More Info" to open the System Profiler.

      Look toward the bottom of the "Hardware" screen to find the serial number. Record this number.

    • 3

      Visit the Apple Service and Repair website (see Resources) and enter your serial number into the "Hardware serial number" field.

    • 4

      Choose your country and click "Continue." Your AppleCare warranty information is displayed on the next page.
