How to Make a Virtual Floppy Drive

A virtual floppy drive is an online or on-computer backup floppy drive. The floppy drive is handy for laptops or computers that are built without a floppy drive or for virtual machines that can use the floppy drive. Software is used to create the original floppy drive and then the drive is used as preferred by the owner of the computer.

Instructions

1. Open the software. Each software program's directions will differ slightly, but all of them are opened by clicking on the icon or opening it manually through the computer start bar.

2. Select a drive. The software should have an option for Drive 0, Drive 1, Drive 2 and further drive numbers. The exact number will differ on the software. This will become the virtual floppy drive.

3. Click on "Open" and then "Browse" to select a floppy drive image. Click on "Create" to create the floppy drive.

4. Add anything you'd like to the floppy drive according to the program's instructions.
