Instructions

    • 1

Confirm that the dryer is set to a heat level program as opposed Air Fluff mode.

    • 2

Ensure that the dryer program you are running is not shifting into the "Cool Down" mode too soon, making the heat drying portion of the cycle too short to complete the task at hand.

    • 3

Remove the lint filter found just inside the door jam and scoop out all of the lint that has accumulated. Repeat this procedure after or before every use of the dryer.

    • 4

Clean with a an exhaust duct sweeper tool or call in a service to clean out the exhaust ducts that may have become clogged with lint and dust over time. Maytag suggests this be done once per year for optimal performance of the dryer and for fire prevention.

    • 5

Inspect the exhaust exit area and hood on the exterior of the to see it has become blocked with lint or if something has been stored over or against the vent preventing the free flowing exit of moist hot air.

    • 6

Load the dryer with just a single wash load and do not overfill the dryer drum to its maximum density as this will decrease dryer performance significantly.

    • 7

Dry heavy, thick or bulky items like towels, sweaters and denim separately from lightweight or thin items like sheets and t-shirts.

    • 8

Remove, shake out and re-insert large items that fill the dryer once or twice during the dry cycle. Comforters, duvets and mattress pads may not tumble enough to dry properly without assistance.

    • 9

Place enough volume of material in the dryer during a load so that tiny loads don't just bunch up and dry around the edges leaving wet interiors. Even a bath towel or a few hand towels can help restore the proper tumbling action that makes the dryer effective.

Tips & Warnings

  • Inspect the drain exit hose on your washing machine to make sure it is not blocked and that all water that should be removed from the tub at the end of a wash cycle is being extracted before drying commences. Dryers are not designed to cope well with sopping wet material.
