Remove the hook, sticker or other object that is stuck to the metal surface. Peel as much of the sticker away as possible, leaving only the adhesive.

    • 2

Mix equal parts of baking soda and warm water together in a small bowl. Adjust the amount of baking soda and water until the combination results in a paste.

    • 3

Apply the paste with your fingers or a cloth to the adhesive on the metal surface. Apply the paste in a small area to begin with and work it into the adhesive as a test area.

    • 4

Wipe the adhesive away to determine how much of the baking soda and water paste will be required to remove all of the adhesive.

    • 5

Continue working your way along the edge of the adhesive with the mixture, taking time to wipe away loosened adhesive as you go.

    • 6

Wipe the area clean when all of the adhesive has been removed. Thoroughly dry the metal to help reduce the possibility of rust forming.
