Whether your GMC Yukon is the standard-length model or the XL (extended-length) model, it comes with GM's Oil Life System. This feature displays the estimated percentage of oil life remaining (on the odometer cluster) and notifies you when the Yukon is due for an oil change. After each oil change, you're required to reset the system, unless you want to see the "Change Oil" message and hear the warning chime each time you start your engine.

Step 1

Press the lower button on the left side of your steering wheel (fuel tank symbol) until the odometer screen changes to "Oil Life Remaining." The engine must be running to access this feature.

Step 2

Press and hold the "Select" button (angled arrow symbol), on the right side of your steering wheel, for 5 to 8 seconds. The percentage shown will reset to "100."

Step 3

Turn your engine off, and then turn it back on. The "Change Oil" light will no longer be on.
