Loosen the lug nuts on the tire with a tire tool just a couple of turns. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and place a jack stand under the axle nearest to the tire you will be removing.

3
Lower the floor jack so the vehicle is sitting on the jack stand and move the floor jack out of the way. Remove the lug nuts from the tire and set the nuts and tire in a safe place.

4
Remove the brake caliper bolts with a socket wrench. Take the brake caliper off the wheel with a large, flat head screwdriver. Do not pry against the face of the brake rotor.
-
5
Take the brake caliper off the rotor and set it on the axle frame so it is not hanging by the rubber brake hose. Slide the rotor off the hub by hand, gently moving it back and forth until it comes loose.

6
Locate the ABS wire on the hub bearing assembly if applicable and unplug the wire from the mount by hand. Remove the cap from the end of the spindle, sliding the flat head screwdriver underneath the cap and prying it off.

7
Remove the cotter pin on the end of the spindle that holds the spindle nut with a pair of pliers. Take the spindle nut off the axle with the socket wrench.
-
8
Locate the washer and wheel bearing behind the spindle nut and remove them with the flat head screwdriver. Gently tap the back of the hub with a rubber mallet until it comes loose then you can remove it from the spindle.
