How to Design Your Varsity Letterman's Jacket Online

Gone are the days when your school chose the colors and style of all letterman jackets. Now, instead of being an article of clothing that expresses the uniformity of the team or school, the jackets can express the individuality of each student. Numerous shops exist online that allow you to design your own jacket. You don't need to be a professional fashion designer -- you just need to know your likes and dislikes.

1. Visit the website Mountolympusawards.com. Click on the link on the left side of the menu that says "Letterman Jackets." This will take you to a page filled with 18 color combinations of varsity jackets.

2. Click on the jacket you like best. Choose one that has your school colors or your favorite colors. Select a size for your jacket, ranging from small to extra, extra large.

3. Select which side of the chest you would like the embroidery to be on and choose your font. Type in the boxes provided what you want the text to say. For example, it could say your school name, your team name, your name or your nickname. If you want custom chenille for your jacket, click on the appropriate box.

4. Click on the box that says "add to cart" when you are finished. Review your order and hit "check out now." Type in your credit card number and shipping address or click on the link for PayPal and log in the appropriate information.

MVP Athletic

1. Visit the website Mvpathletic.com. Click next to the link where it says "Design your own letterman jacket." This will take you to a template where you can pick the styles and features of your jacket.

2. Click on the cuts and neck styles of your jacket. For example, you can choose from a range of styles such as a hood, a knit collar, gusset or set-in sleeves. Click on each part of the jacket and sleeves and choose jacket colors from a large range of options. Choose leather or wool. Decide the colors inside and outside the jacket collar. Select your school or team colors or your favorite colors.

3. Click on step No. 2 at the top of the menu on the link that says Chenille Colors. Decide how big you want your chenille to be and the colors. Once you are satisfied with your selections, click on the top of the page

4. Click on step No. 3 at the top of the page, which will allow you to design the back of your jacket. There are a variety of designs: having text at the top, middle or bottom of the jacket using curved, block, straight or script styles. Select a mascot patch, if appropriate.

5. Click on step No. 4 at the top of the page. Select the patches or awards for your jacket. You can even select a name or number patch from a variety of fonts.

6. Click on Step 5 at the top of the menu. Choose your letter.

7. Click on the final step at the top of the screen. Review your order carefully and the choices you made. If satisfied, type in your credit card information and shipping address. Click on "finalize."

Build Your Jacket

1. Visit the website Buildyourjacket.com. Click on the link that says "Jacket Builder." This will take you to a new page with a blank template of a jacket. Select the collar style and knit pattern. Click on the button colors you want the jacket to have.

2. Click on the tab near the top of the screen that says "text." Type in the text you want your jacket to have and select a font from the pull down menu.

3. Click on the tabs for the right shoulder, left shoulder and back of the jacket and type in any text or patches that you want those areas of your jacket to have. Click on the tab that says "notes" and type in any special instructions or anything you want to make perfectly clear about the making of your jacket.

4. Click on the link that says "Buy." The website will save the changes that you made to the jacket. Create a new account with your email address and password. Checkout by typing in your credit card information and shipping address.
