How to Install Free Spybot
Spybot Search & Destroy is a freeware application that scans your Windows computer for spyware and adware programs hidden in files, the system registry, cookies and other locations. The program provides various tools for removing the spyware and adware that it locates on the computer and can immunize the system to prevent future infections from known spyware and adware providers. The program is free if you are a personal user and you can install it in just a few minutes.

Launch a Web browser.

Navigate to the Spybot Search & Destroy download page (see Resources).

Click "Download."

Select the download mirror you wish to use to download Spybot Search & Destroy. The installation file will be saved in your default downloads folder.

Double-click the installation file to begin installation.

Select your language and click "Install."

Click "Next" and "Accept" to agree to the license agreement.

Specify the installation location and click "Next" By default, Spybot Search & Destroy installs in the standard "Program Files" location on your computer.

Select the installation type and click "Next."

Specify the Start menu location for the program and click "Next." By default, the installation file will load shortcuts in a dedicated Spybot Search & Destroy folder in your Start menu.

Select the shortcut icons and permanent protection you wish to enable and click "Next."

Click "Install" to install the program. Once the installation is complete, you can launch Spybot Search & Destroy to scan your computer and remove spyware and adware.
