How to Write on Clothing Name Labels

Write your name on the clothing label.

If your child is about to head off to camp, you may want to personalize his clothes by writing his name on the clothing label. This will prevent clothing mixups among the campers. Writing a name on a clothing label is also a good idea if you have small children who attend a day care, or if you have older children who are on a sports team.

Things You'll Need

• Laundry detergent
• Laundry marker

Instructions

1. Wash and dry the clothing you need to personalize. Follow the washing instructions on the clothing's label.

2. Turn the clothing inside out so that the clothing label is clearly visible.

3. Use the laundry marker to spell out your name, or the name of your child, across the clothing label. How big or how small the name is depends on the size of the label. Write the name as big as you can.

4. Turn the clothing right-side-out, fold as you normally would and pack.

Tips & Warnings

• Laundry markers are sold in department stores and office-supply stores.

• You can use a fine point permanent marker instead of a laundry marker, but it might bleed.
