Outlook Express Won't Start

      Open the Internet Explorer program.

      Open "Tools" and click "Internet Options." Select "Delete" under the "Browser History" section. Exit Internet Explorer.

      Reboot your computer and attempt to launch Outlook Express.

    Re-register Outlook Express and its Files

      Click the Windows logo or "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of the desktop.

      Open "All Programs" or "Programs." Click "Accessories."

      Right-click "Command Prompt" and click "Run as Administrator."

      Type the following commands in the prompt and press "Enter" to re-register Outlook Express and its files:

      regsvr32 urlmon.dll

      regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

      regsvr32 browseui.dll

      msimn /reg

      Exit the Command Prompt.

      Open Internet Explorer. Open "Tools" and select "Options" or "Internet Options." Click the "Programs" tab and choose Outlook as the primary email client.

      Exit Internet Explorer and attempt to launch Outlook Express.

    Reset Internet Explorer

      Click "Tools" and click "Internet Options."

      Open the "Advanced" tab and click "Reset." Choose "Reset" again once the reset settings prompt appears.

      Exit Internet Explorer and attempt to open Outlook Express.
