How do I Remove Lint in a Maytag Neptune?

Removing, cleaning and replacing the Neptune lint filter is a simple task.

Maytag Corporation manufactured a range of laundry washers and tumble dryers under the Neptune badge. Though they are no longer in production by the company, the product manuals and service contacts are supported through the Maytag.com website. Neptune dryer products featured front or top-load models with touch-screen controls, as well as an optional stationary dryer rack for delicate materials. Removing the lint filter and keeping it clean between every dryer cycle boosts the machine's performance and can help to cut down on drying time as well as on energy costs.

Instructions

1. Open the dryer door to its fully open position.

2. Grasp the handle of the lint filter found just inside the door jam. Lift and pull on the handle gently but firmly to loosen the filter from its position in the storage crevice. Slide the filter out in a straight line from the opening to prevent the edges from catching of the sides of the crevice.

3. Wipe or roll off the lint that has accumulated on the inside edge of the filter, using your fingertips or hands. Discard or compost the lint.

4. Replace the filter by sliding it back into the storage crevice, handle side up.

Tips & Warnings

• Never operate your Neptune Dryer without the lint filter in place or with filter where the filter mesh has been torn. This can allow lint to build up in the dryer exhaust system and creating a fire hazard over time. Replacement filters can be acquired through Maytag or authorized parts dealers.
