How to Reset the Multifunction Display After Service on a 2005 Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes Benz models from 2005 on use an onboard computer to keep track of regular maintenance intervals. The multifunction display indicates that service is needed when the computer determines it is time. If a Mercedes-Benz dealer performs the service on the vehicle, they will typically reset the multifunction display as part of the process. If you perform the service yourself, you can manually reset the display.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the ignition switch on without starting the engine.

    • 2

Press the bottom multifunction button on the left side of the steering column until the total mileage is displayed on the window.

    • 3

Press the up or down arrow on the steering column control panel until the service interval is shown on the display.

    • 4

Press and hold the trip odometer reset button until the service interval reset message appears on the display.

    • 5

Press and hold the trip odometer reset button for about three seconds until the display shows that the service interval has been reset.
