Things You'll Need:
- Life Vests
- Ski Boats
- Slalom Skis
- Water Ski Ropes
- Water Skis
-
Step 1
Become very comfortable with your slalom ski before considering any jump. You should be confident with turning inside and outside the wake at high speed.
-
Step 2
Ride outside the wake, with the boat driving about 36 mph. Grip the rope with the baseball-bat grip.
-
Step 3
Cut hard toward the wake to generate speed. Stay crouched low on your ski.
-
Step 4
Stop cutting right before you hit the wake. Your momentum will carry you over the wake, but if you are still cutting, you will most likely fall.
-
Step 5
Pop up as you hit the wake, straightening your legs to jump up.
-
Step 6
Freeze your position in the air. As you become a more confident jumper, you can personalize your jumping position.
-
Step 7
Land leaning back so that the back of the ski lands first. The tip of your ski is pointing forward. Bend your knees to absorb the landing.

on 5/21/2007 This is crazy. At 36 ??? I do a lot of slalom skiing, in the course. Never heard of such a dangerous guidance before.
Slalom skis are not made to jump. If you want to jump, use a wakeboard, or jump skis.
