How do I Copy a Safedisc CD?
Macrovision's SafeDisc technology was created to protect a game compact disc (CD) from being copied--even if legally owned. Updates to the Microsoft Windows operating system can interfere with the SafeDisc technology and make it impossible to play the CD. Making a copy of the SafeDisc CD allows the copy of the legally owned CD to be used. A PC game copy program can be used to duplicate the CD without also copying the SafeDisc technology. There are a number of PC game copy programs available, some free and others free on a trial basis. The programs all operate in a similar fashion to copy the CD. No knowledge of how the SafeDisc technology works is necessary.
