1
Unfold 17 diapers, then roll each of them tight, starting at the front of the diaper and working your way back. Place a rubber band around each diaper to help hold the rolled shape.
-
2
Arrange five or six diapers in a circle around the 8-oz. baby bottle or lotion container. Wrap a large rubber band around the diapers and bottle to keep them together. Place this ring on the cake platter.

3
Place another 11 or 12 rolled diapers in a circle around the first ring of diapers. Wrap a large rubber band around all of the diapers to keep the two rings in place.
-
4
Unfold another 17 to 18 diapers and roll them as you did in Step 1. This time, instead of using rubber bands to hold them into place, however, tie a thin, ¼-inch long piece of decorative ribbon around the center of each diaper. Place these diapers in a circle around the existing diaper rings. Wrap a wide ribbon around the outside of the diaper tier to hold all of the diaper rings in place.

5
Unfold and roll another five or six diapers and wrap rubber bands around each. Arrange them on top of the first diaper tier, around the top of the bottle that is sticking out of the first tier. Unfold and roll 11 to 12 diapers and keep them in place by using the thin ribbon you used in Step 4. Place them around the existing ring and wrap the large ribbon around all of the diapers in this tier. You should now have two tiers of cake.

6
Place a 4-oz. baby bottle on your working station. Unwrap and roll five or six diapers and wrap the decorative ribbon around each to keep its shape. Place the diapers around the bottle and tie the wide decorative ribbon around this tier to keep all of the diapers and the bottle in place. Place this tier on the top of the cake. You now have a three-tiered diaper cake.
-
7
Decorate the cake by placing baby-related items, such as pacifiers, toys and rattles, at various spots throughout the cake. Place the cake in the center of the gift table or in another area that is easily viewed and accessible to the party attendees and guest of honor.

Tips & Warnings
If you are having difficulties keeping the diapers rolled with the ribbon, use rubber bands on the diapers to help them keep their shapes, however, wrap the ribbon around the rubber bands so that they do not show. Similarly, if the large, wide ribbon isn't holding the tiers into shape, use a large rubber band, then wrap the ribbon over top the band.
