International Dialing Instructions USA to Switzerland

Calling Switzerland from the United States is a relatively simple process.

Whether for business or personal reasons, calling Switzerland from the United States is not much different from calling any other destination. Because you are making an international call, however, some extra steps should be carried out in the dialing process if your call is to reach Switzerland trouble-free. Knowing how to get on an international line, as well as knowing Switzerland's country code, is necessary for this process.

Instructions

1. Check the Swiss number. If the number begins with a "0," you will need to drop this first digit when making your call. The "0" is only used when calling from within Switzerland.

2. Dial "011." This will ensure that your phone call will be on an international line.

3. Dial "41." This is the international calling code for Switzerland.

4. Dial the rest of the number, which will have a total of nine digits, including the local area code. After a brief pause, you will get a ring tone indicating that the dialing process was successful.
