Instructions

    • 1

Place the tip of the flat-head screwdriver under the Sony Vaio key you want to repair or replace.

    • 2

      Pry upward using gentle force.

    • 3

Clean the Vaio keyboard with a damp, lint-free cloth.

    • 4

Ensure that the two pieces of the key retainer are attached to one another. One piece of the key retainer is a square base, and the other is a rounded piece that connects to the base by popping the two feet into the holes provided. The square base sits on the keyboard, while the rounded piece connects to the key. Both of these pieces connect to one another to allow the key to move when pressed, almost like a hinge.

    • 5

Attach the key retainer to the Sony Vaio keyboard (if it isn't already) and press all four sides into the brackets provided. Ensure that it fits tightly and that all four sides are secured.

    • 6

Place the key over the key retainer and press downward firmly until the key locks into place.

    • 7

Press the key a couple of times to ensure that it is locked into place.
